PRECIOSA beads and seed beads

Small rocailles, for example 13/0, 10/0, 8/0, and tubes for sprinkling into the mould; larger rocailles, for example 4/0, for placement in the concrete; various shapes for laying in the concrete (overly flat shapes are not suitable as they submerge into the concrete); seed beads and beads of distinctive or lighter shades in opaque colors, stripes on a light background, with a metal coated base or with a silver lining

Procedure

Step 1

Preparing the concrete

Mix the concrete with water in the cup at a ratio of 5:1 (5 parts concrete, 1 part water). Mix it into a thin paste. Preferably mix the concrete into the water. You can use a teaspoon as the mixing spoon and the pouring spoon. Work with the concrete immediately; within quarter of an hour at the latest. Stir it occasionally.

Step 2

The preparation of the beads and seed beads

Sprinkle small rocailles, tubes and beads onto the base of the mould. Fill the mould with the concrete up to the edge. If the concrete does not flow everywhere, move it using the large needle.

Step 3

When using larger rocailles or shapes, only fill two thirds of the mould with concrete. Place the shape on the large needle and carefully slide it from the needle to the concrete. Leave the concrete to set overnight, probably for about 12 hours.

Step 4

Completion
Carefully remove the hardened concrete from the mould. Thread the thin chain through the hole and attach the fastening to it. String a partially opened ring onto the last link in the chain. Add the counter-ring or the carabiner and close the ring.

Step 5

Or put a larger ring into the hole and then thread the chain, leather or wire through it. Finish the leather with the fastings or you can also use a śliding knot. Use a wire which alread has a fastening attached.

You can also link a larger bead onto the large ring.
