Every year, Pantone announces its new color of the year. This year's color is the relatively bold and strong Viva Magenta. We have also backed luscious, happy colors this year and the 2023 color of the year, Viva Magenta, can also be found in the PRECIOSA beads and seed bead range!

The 2023 color of the year, Viva Magenta, with the number 18-1750 was created through the combination of artificial intelligence and human creativity. The inspiration came from nature, specifically the carmine color coloring produced by a beetle known as the cochineal. Drawing inspiration from nature should awaken in us a balance between our real and digital lives. This color is intended to invoke natural forces and help us build up our internal self-confidence. 

Viva Magenta contains a combination of shades that is intended to fill us with a feeling of élan and infinite joy. The new color emits dynamism and energy, it is strong and bold and it has a hint of the rebel. The new magenta shade combines tones of pink, red and fuchsia. It is a close relative of carmine or purple. It has also been called the new revived red.
