Use a container in the shape of a cylinder. Cut off the ribbon. A container with a 5 cm diameter will require 40 cm of ribbon, while a diameter of 7.5 cm will require 50 cm. Turn the ribbon around the cylinder. Tie a regular single knot before tying a bow. Both ends of the bow should be approximately the same length. Create a loop out of the left-hand end next to the knot. Twist the right-hand end around the left-hand one. A gap will be created between the loop and the right-hand end of the ribbon. Pull the twisted right-hand end of the ribbon through it. This will create a second loop. Pull on both loops and tighten the bow. You can change the size of the loops by pulling on the ends or directly behind the loop. Be careful that the bow does not loosen during this process. Carefully remove the tied bow from the cylinder. Apply a drop of glue to the back of the bow using a wooden skewer. Let it dry (1 hour). Shorten the end of the ribbon. This process is best-suited to right-handed people.
