STARDUST

Contemporary luxury Czech costume jewelry

While Bohemian crystal is a relatively well-known and renowned brand in the Czech Republic, not much is known of Czech costume jewelry. However, they are both similarly renowned internationally. As such, this exhibition has been created to present the stellar present of Czech costume jewelry.

We invite you to an exhibition of luxurious costume jewelry from 10 selected Czech companies which will take place at the Portheimka Gallery in Prague. Preciosa Ornela will also present its beads and seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads™ brand in pieces of jewelry created by three of its designers.

Contemporary Czech costume jewellery takes many forms. Tens of large, medium-sized and small companies are involved in its production and patterning, especially in the Jablonec and Železný Brod areas of the Liberec Region. Many new products, mainly destined for international markets, are created here every year. A specific part of Czech companies' portfolios include luxurious costume jewelry and fashion creations in the form of design concepts, unique originals and limited collections, including cooperation with international and domestic fashion brands, designers and celebrities or bespoke production for specific demanding customers. And it is precisely this stellar, albeit not overly well-known, face of Czech costume jewelry which is presented at the Stardust exhibition. Preciosa is the exhibition's main partner.

Preciosa Ornela will be represented at the exhibition by beautiful jewelry from our three designers, Kerrie Slade, Karolína Emingrová and Helena Chmelíková.

The exhibition will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Glass Art Portheimka in Prague from 10. 3. 2020 to 23. 8. 2020. Some of the exhibits on display will come from the permanent collection of the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou.
