Safety pin with PRECIOSA beads and seed beads

This Spring Mood tutorial presents a playful piece of jewelry that will adapt to every outfit. This safety pin with PRECIOSA beads and seed beads in fresh spring colors can be worn anywhere: on a shirt, a dress or a handbag. This tutorial will take you through its creation step by step.

Step 1

Prepare the stringings of rocailles supplemented with seed beads

Affix the crimp bead on one end of the snipped wire using the pliers; move it to the end and firmly crimp it (fig. no. 1a). Then string a cup tip and carefully close it with the pliers (fig. no. 1b). String rocailles onto the wire to the required length. You can start with any shape of pressed bead and then continue with rocailles to give the stringing an interesting effect (fig. nos. 1c + 1d + 1e). Affix a crimp bead on the other end of the wire using the pliers (fig. no. 1f). Make the stringings in the colors and lengths of your preference.

Step 2

Prepare the bead stringings

Place an eye pin on the bead. Link the individually beads so that you can make a small eye on each end of the pin; take the pin with the strung bead and twist it round. Create an eye that you can connect other parts to before you close it. Prepare the finished stringings at various lengths for an interesting effect (fig. no. 2).

Step 3

Prepare the beads on the chains

Use an eye pin on the bead and create another eye (fig. no. 3a). Then connect it to the chain that you have already snipped to the length you need. Prepare the small rings (connections) and connect them to the eyes on the safety pin (fig. no. 3b).

Step 4

Prepare a flower with PRECIOSA Pip Engraved beads

String 5x EP onto a line. Knot the end of the line. String 1x R10 to the centre of the flower at one end of the line and thread it through any EP so that the R10 in the middle is secured. Then thread the line through another EP so that you return to the second end of the line and tie a knot (fig. nos. 4a + 4b + 4c). Attach a ring to the flower and then a chain to the ring (fig. nos. 4d + 4e).

Step 5

Assembly

Attach all of the prepared stringings to the eyes on the safety pin. Attach the cup tips with pliers. Connect the linked pendants by linking the eye of the stringing with the eye of the safety pin. Use the small rings on the chains to connect the remainder of the piece of jewelry (fig. no. 5).
