Material

A 6-row metal guide (the pattern uses a gallery wire cut into 6 links – 22 mm long); 4 mm linking rings; earring hooks; a metal crimp bead (MR)

Tools

Regular steel wire with a diameter of 0.30 mm; a thin needle;

snipping pliers; a ruler; flat-nosed pliers (for crimping the beginning of the wire and the MR and manipulating the rings)

Procedure

Step 1

If you have a longer gallery chain, cut it down to 6 links using the snipping pliers. Apply the sharp section of the pliers from the side right next to the external edge of the link (not horizontally to the link) and press. The edge of the link should be almost smooth.

Step 2

Cut off 1.30 m of wire. Crimp the MR about 10 – 15 cm from the end of the wire. This will hold the wire strung into an eye of the guide. Use the flat-nosed pliers to crimp the second end of the wire. Thread it through the eye of the needle. Slide the needle down the wire by 1 – 2 cm. When you first string the R, move the R up to the eye of the needle. Then hold the point of the needle in the flat-nosed pliers, press on the R and shift it over the eye of the needle with the wire.

Step 3

Thread the wire through the second eye in the guide. String 14 cm of R1. Thread the wire through the 3rd eye in the guide. String 12 cm of R2. Thread the wire through the 4th eye in the guide. String 10 cm of R3. Thread the wire through the 5th eye in the guide. String 8 cm of R4. thread the wire through the 6th eye in the guide.

Step 4

Now start to return to the 2nd eye in the guide. String 8 cm of R1. Thread the wire through the 5th eye in the guide. String 10 cm of R2. Thread the wire through the 4th eye in the guide. String 12 cm of R3. thread the wire through the 3rd eye in the guide. String 14 cm of R4. Thread the wire through the second eye in the guide. Adjust the twisting of the wire.

Step 5

Remove the crimped MR from the end of the wire. Place the jaws of the flat-nosed pliers on it from the side and gently press. The MR will "open" slightly, allowing you to remove it from the wire. Pull the wire from the second eye in the guide. Tighten the stringing (start from the smallest ring and proceed to the biggest). Tie off the ends of the wire with three knots. Work slowly and carefully. Wire is less pliable. Thread the ends of the wire through 2 – 4x R, one to the right and one to the left. Cut it off.

Step 6

Slightly open a ring and connect the guide's first eye and the eye on an earring hook. Close the ring.
