Pendant in the shape of a heart with microbeads

Here is a tutorial on how to make a simple decoration on any base using microbeads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Glass™ for all those who love making things by hand. Choose your favourite colors from the wide range of microbead shades and create a simple pendant in the shape of a heart.

Materials and Tools

BMX 40 microbeads

632 651 9 400 090 – pink

BMX 40 microbeads

632 651 9 400 095 – red

1.0 – 1.3 mm microbeads

632 652 3 013 090 – pink

1.0 – 1.3 mm microbeads

632 652 3 013 095 – red

Materials

The base material - a wooden heart; glue; white acrylic or tempera paint; a brush; a colorless lacquer in a spray

Tools

A fine chain, 50 cm long; a chain with larger links, 45 mm long; a carabiner; rings; pliers

Procedure

Step 1

Paint the selected shape white using the paintbrush (it will accentuate the color of the microbeads) and then apply a thin layer of glue to the gluing side once the paint has dried.

Step 2

After it dries, the glue will form a self-adhesive layer, onto which you can place the microbeads (we recommend starting with the 1.0 – 1.3 mm size) according to your fancy.

Step 3

At the end, sprinkle on the BMX 40 microbeads and fill out the heart's entire surface.

Step 4

Spray the finished product with the clear lacquer to ensure a better hold for the materials.

Step 5

You can hang the pendant on a chain or on a chain with a carabiner.
