Michal Papež

He became acquainted with the world of glass beads as a small child at the knee of his great-grandmother, who strung them at home.

He chose to study at the Applied Arts Secondary School of Glass in Železný Brod, which he graduated from in the field of Glass Technology. He further developed his acquired knowledge when working with technical glass, where he saw his future lying at that time. In time, he came closer to the production of costume jewellery until it eventually swallowed him up completely.

He went out on his own in 2005 and he is involved in business in the area of packaging and assembly and technical consultancy in the field of glass-making. He works very closely with costume jewellery producers, where he contributes to the development of new types of beads and vacuum finishes. His highly successful combined decorations include, for example, Rainbow, California and Glitter.
He dedicates his time to costume jewellery production and he is also a designer. He constantly monitors new colour trends, shapes, materials, costume jewellery components and finishing techniques. He draws inspiration from them and combines everything using his imagination.

He is currently focusing on fire polished beads which have a long tradition in costume jewellery and which he is planning his future with. That is how the PRECIOSA Hill™cut semi-sphere, which is also from his workshop, came into being.
