Kateřina Krausová

She has studied at the Glass Applied Arts Secondary School in Železný Brod and in the Glass Workshop at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under the tutelage of Professor Vladimír Kopecký.

She has dedicated herself to working with glass as an artistic medium since the age of 14. She creates original glass structures, pictures and design utility glass. A specific free creation technique involves the placement of cut segments of flat glass into compositions of abstract landscapes. She exhibits both in the Czech Republic and abroad (Belgium, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain and the USA).

She has worked with Preciosa a.s. externally for nine years and she has also cooperated with PRECIOSA ORNELA, a. s., for which she has designed and produced a collection of promotional costume jewellery designed for world trade fairs and exhibitions. Part of the work has also included jewellery boxes for international fashion brands (Vuiton, Ralf Lauren, Fossil and Pandora).

Two years ago, she created her first collection of costume jewellery containing crystal components from Preciosa a.s. in an unconventional concept. The leitmotif for her costume jewellery involves the original and unconventional working of classic costume jewellery materials and techniques in order to give rise to timeless, but also courageous designs of wearable costume jewellery.
