Materials & Tools

Other materials & tools

Crocheting yarn, a Big Eye needle or a stringing needle with an eye for a fine line, a 1 mm hook, scissors, metal parts

Procedure

Step 1

First, string the seed beads onto the crocheting yarn in the following order:
18x R8 (only at the start and the end of the tube) followed by 3x R8, 1x T2, 1x T5 and 1x T2 – repeat this series until you have achieved a length of 120 cm (ca 17 cm is enough for the length of the tube). String a further 18x R8 at the end.

1

Step 2

Create the initial loop. Keep it relatively large , as you will later use it to join the seed beads into a circle. Count off 6x R8 and crochet a chain with the seed beads. Move one seed bead as close as possible to the hook and then grasp the yarn behind it and crochet the first loop with a seed bead. Repeat the procedure five more times so that you have created 6 chain links consisting of 6x R8.

2

Step 3

Then thread the hook through the first initial loop and pull the yarn through both loops at once.

3

Step 4

Poke the hook under the thread, on which the first R8 seed bead is strung, from the left, twist the seed bead downwards to the right, move the next seed bead as close as possible to it, grasp the yarn with the hook and crochet a slip stitch (thread the yarn through both loops at once).

4

Step 5

Add the seed beads in the second row and then crochet slip stitches with seed beads around in a spiral. If all the seed beads in the rows are turned with their holes in the direction of the crocheting (upwards), you have proceeded correctly.

Step 6

Continue crocheting until you use up all the seed beads.

6

Step 7

Crochet the last row without any seed beads and cut off the yarn; leave about 15 cm at the end.

7

Step 8

Insert an eye pin into the tube and sew the eye pin to the end of the tube using the remainder of the yarn. Hide any remaining yarn inside the tube.

8

Step 9

String a cap, make an eye in the eye pin.

9

Step 10

Then attach any type of jewelry fastening and you are finished.
