Carla Ruvolo is Italian. As a mother of two, she doesn’t have too much free time but whenever she can relax, beads are my first choice.
Her beading addiction began in 1990, when she spent almost 4 months to add thousands and thousands of beads and crystals to her own wedding dress. She fell in love with white Czech seed beads while she was in Prague and she couldn’t resist to them. She bought a lot of bags full of sparkling.
When Carla bought her wedding dress she asked for a plain lace one, without paillettes or beads or anything they would have added. She spent whole nights adding and sewing and attaching her own beads and crystals and then she understood that was only the beginning… Since then Carla learned how to make jewels, she learned several techniques and she must say that she is still learning.
A few years ago though Carla discovered the art of French beading flowers, she knew she had to try and she find it’s wonderful to see how a bunch of beads can turn into a lifelike sparkling flower. Carla began with easy and little flowers and after a while her challenge was to create more intricate flowers like giant roses or elegant orchids. She made bridal headpieces, wedding favors, table decorations, Christmas decorations, only using wire and beautiful beads and seed beads with the Preciosa Traditional Czech Beads™ brand.
Now her house is full of beaded flowers in all size and colors, she can’t stop making them, she can’t stop looking for new beads, she has a closet full of glass jars but it seems that she always miss a color.
"That’s all beader’s dilemma that really love beading. I can’t resist to try new flowers and new techniques. My dream is to have a chance to visit the Preciosa Bead Shop, since I have troubles to find all the colors and finish I need for my flower projects," says Carla.
